July 2009's Stem Cell Sector Stock Price Winners and Losers

As noted in May and June, we've begun adding a comparison of individual company stock price with the prior month's and have included the percentage changes. Sector Companies are then ranked by percentage price change in a downloadable PDF file. You'll find the file following the list of percentage winners and losers.

The notable characteristic during July was the decrease in sector market value of .7% as a whole while the Nasdaq Composite was increasing by almost 8%.  This is the first time in three months where this has happened.  Also, you will notice that Advanced Cell Technology, the largest percentage gainer during June, is the largest percentage loser during July, making it number one on our volatility index, especially given that there was no particular reason for either move.

2. Biotime Inc. (BTIM.OB) - 45%
3. HepaLife Technologies (HPLF.OB) - 26%

1. Advanced Cell Technology (ACTC.PK) - (-35%)
2. Biomatrix Scientific (BMSN.OB) - (-11%)
3. Osiris Therapeutics (OSIR) - (-9%)
